Central Kalahari, Botswana
Surprisingly the Central Kalahari Game Reserve was not founded to preserve the wild animals but to protect an endangered breed of man, the Bushman. This desert environment is the natural habitat of the nomadic San Bushman, and your visit and interaction with these unique people will be something very unusual.
The Central Kalahari is the second largest game reserve in the world. Situated right in the centre of Botswana, this reserve is characterised by vast open plains, saltpans and ancient riverbeds. The Kalahari is not a true desert as it receives a bit of rain, therefore the landscape is more one of golden grass and small red dunes.
