The semi-arid wilderness of Botswana's Chobe National Park surrounding Savute Elephant Camp is home to large herds of elephant. An adjacent waterhole provides refreshment for these herds and buffalo, suni, puku and red lechwe dot the floodplains.
Savute Elephant Camp accommodates twenty four guests in twelve glass and thatch rooms.
The stylish suites are large and light with massive sliding doors and a spacious private veranda allows you spectacular views of the surrounding areas.
For those who love to watch animals at any given moment, suites facing the dry riverbeds are recommended as they offer magnificent views of the roaming animals.
The main lodge houses the cosy lounge, cocktail bar and library- perfect for unwinding and regaining lost energy!
Scrumptious breakfasts and light lunches are served on the maindeck overlooking the waterhole and while eating your favourite kind of egg, expect to watch the animals fighting for dominance and rights to the minimal water!
Exciting game drives are in open 4x4 vehicles in the Savute Game Reserve and during the dry season, animals congregate around the waterholes and awesome sightings can be seen.
Savute is the only place where lions hunt elephant and with a bit of luck you will witness this unusual phenomenon!
Lazy afternoons are spent at the swimming pool cooling down and even from the luxury of the pool your safari will continue as the animals walk past to the waterhole.
Otherwise be adventurous and get to know the area- visit the exquisite Savute Marsh and interesting San Rock Art in the Gubatsa Hills.
Everything at Savute Safari Lodge is about maximising your game experience and you can be sure of going home elated!
No children under the age of twelve years are allowed.
