The first fully sustainable "green" safari camp in Africa. Every aspect of this luxury camp is recyclable and is powered entirely by the sun. Perfect for those seeking a private safari in one of the largest conservation concessions in Botswana's Selinda Reserve. It is one of Africa's smallest, exclusive safari camps.
Most definately the most ecologically friendly safari camp in Africa... Recently re-opened, with a new look in a spectacular new location, Zarafa Camp has won numerous eco-lodge awards.
It has prime position in the eastern sector of the Selinda Game Reserve overlooking the savanna and floodplains of the Zibadianja Lagoon. The camp is set in the shade of Red Ivory and Jackelberry forests. Animals and birds can be viewed from all aspects of the elevated camp.
Zarafa is amazingly powered entirely by the sun, making it one of the greenest camps on earth! There are four large 'marquis style' canvas tents accommodating a maximum of only eight guests. Each spacious tent has an en-suite bathroom with stylish copper fittings. There is also an outside shower. A beautiful handcrafted fireplace provides warmth in the bedroom and bathroom in the winter months.
The shaded veranda has a private pool for cooling off in the hot season. The atmosphere is one of romance and safari tradition. The camp's main area is set under a large 'marquis tent' andis positioned to best show off the panoramic views of the wildlife on the plains.
There are no rules at Zarafa and guests are encouraged to find their own safari rhythm. The advantage of a small camp is being able to schedule meal times around sighting and personal preferences.
Game viewing activities including walking safaris and game drives in 4x4s into the animal rich Selinda Reserve are led by highly skilled resident guides.
