The intimate
Little Mombo camp accommodates just 6 guests in spacious elevated tented safari tents built under a shady canopy. The tents are luxurious with an ensuite bathroom, outdoor shower, a private sala and a large veranda.
Little Mombo is an extension of Mombo Camp. Both camps are located on Mombo Island which adjoins the northern tip of Chief's Island in the Moremi Game Reserve
in the heart of the Okavango Delta. This area has some of the best big game viewing in Botswana. At any time, from anywhere in the camp, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the floodplains.
Although
Little Mombo Camp is joined to
Mombo Camp by means of a raised walkway, it has its own kitchen, dining area, boma and pool.If a group is larger than 6 people, the overflow can easily be accommodated at
Mombo Camp.
The surrounding area is typical of what is featured on
African wildlife documentaries with open grassland plains dotted with acacia trees and thickets and ancient floodplains, long since dried up, that have now formed permanent savannah.
Activities include morning and afternoon game drives to view high concentrations of plains game and all the predators - including the big cats.
Lion sightings are frequent. Guests at
Little Mombo Camp are able to watch as game passes by the camp from the sala, veranda and lounge area. And there are 2 hides from where to view game when in camp. The hide overlooking Hippo Pool is very popular.
