On an island in a private concession and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in the northern Okavango Delta, Little Vumbura is one of the few lodges that offer land and water activities all year round.
Little Vumbura has six luxury tents, accommodates 12 guests and is only reachable by boat. Each of the large tents is fitted with a private en-suite bathroom, running hot and cold water, flushing toilet and an outside shower especially for those who want to get into the spirit of the wilderness. During time-out, your own private veranda provides the perfect spot from which you can simply relax in the shade and enjoy the bush.
A wooden deck looking out over the floodplains of the Okavango Delta has been built around the trees and provides an idyllic venue for meals and drinks - another feature is a plunge pool to cool down in during the midday heat.
With its superb position in the northern part of the Okavango Delta, Little Vumbura is able to offer both land and water activities. During the water activities, you’ll float down the Okavango Delta on mokoros (dug-out canoes) under the expert direction of your guide.
Game drives in open Land Rovers offer marvellous viewings of the savannah plains, while walks around the island allow you to experience Africa from a different perspective at Little Vumbura.
On evening game drives, your guide at Little Vumbura will be able to point out animals that aren't seen during the day, and you can sit back and enjoy the starry African sky. The Vumbura area is one of the few in the Okavango where you can spot the Red Lechwe. Expect to see lion, elephant, cheetah and buffalo as well as an amazing array of bird life.
For keen fisherman, try your luck at catching one of the many challenging Tiger Fish, Bream and Tilapia. Come and experience one of the best lodges in the Moremi Game Reserve, and enjoy a taste of the ultimate safari experience at Little Vumbura.
