Secretly placed amongst ebony and sausage trees, Sanctuary Stanley's Camp is an intimate and classically styled camp. Situated on a private concession on the southern tip of Chief's Island in the Okavango Delta, the camp prides itself in being renowned for plentiful game and fun-filled activities.
The eight luxury safari tents of Stanley's Camp are beautifully decorated with handcrafted beds, dressed with the finest linen. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony overlooking the Moremi while the oriental carpets and antique furniture incorporate a splash of colour- leaving no doubt as to the exclusivity of the camp! After a morning walking safari, game drive or mokoro ride on the delta, there's no better way to relax and indulge oneself than an afternoon spent resting in hammocks on a private balcony overlooking the Boro River.
Stanley's Camp offers spectacular game viewing, including the rare and elusive wild dog. Animals are viewed by open 4x4 vehicles and mokoro canoe excursions (subject to water levels).
Stanley's Camp is unique in that it offers an educational experience with a trio of semi habituated African elephants. At an additional cost, elephant activities are offered giving you and your family a better understanding of these large creatures. The main aim is to create a relationship between you and the elephants in two sessions of "Meeting the herd" and "Joining the herd". This is your chance to get to know and understand what makes these majestic animals tick- a wonderful and enlightening experience that will have you enthralled!
