Tubu Tree Camp, a Wilderness Safari's lodge, is situated in the Okavango Delta. This small camp is in elephant country. The ellies come right up to the lodge! Tubu Tree is a standard camp and therefore cheaper than the 5 star lodges. .
The beauty of the contrasting terrain that encompasses Tubu Tree Lodge, in Botswana's Okavango Delta, is that the wetlands, water channels and arid inland areas each attract contrasting species of wildlife.
The intimate Tubu Tree Camp bordering on the Moremi Game Reserve and to the west of Mombo, accommodates a maximum of ten guests and has only five rooms offering personalised attention. The five luxury rooms consist of en suite bathrooms (with flushing toilet).
The tents are perfectly completed with a romantic outdoor shower and a private deck overlooking the marvellous lagoon. To maximise the game viewing opportunities, the suites have been built in a traditional style on wooden platforms.
This area is renowned for its palatable grasses as well as having the largest amount of permanently dry land. Therefore many habitats are able to survive in these conditions.
Activities are land and water based at Tubu Tree Camp, including day and night game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles as well as safari walks with a knowledgeable and armed guide.
The water channels of the Okavango Delta may be explored mid year by mokoro, revealing all sorts of water birds and animals- with the varied natural habitat, the variety of animals is monstrous!
The balance of the day is spent in Tubu Tree Camp's open sided, raised dining room and lounge area otherwise relaxing at the cosy bar under an impressively large marula tree is equally inviting. In the evenings a campfire is lit as you socialise with rangers, sharing stories and simply enjoying the peace and quiet.
