Found on a private concession overlooking the gorgeous Xugana Lagoon, Xugana Island Lodge is known to be one of the most peaceful and relaxing safari lodges.
The eight reed and thatch rooms at Xugana Camp are very traditional and more than adequate with protective mosquito nets covering the beds and a simplistic en-suite bathroom.
Each suite has a little veranda where a morning cup of tea or afternoon read can be appreciated.
The lodge, accommodating a maximum of sixteen guests, is built on an island with water views on all sides and all meals are served outside under the shade of the trees.
Delicious food comprises of a mix of healthy cooling salads, hearty stews and casseroles.
It is all about water at Xugana Camp and so it goes without saying days are either spent gazing at the river, going on river safari's or paddling on dug-out canoes through the channels.
In the heat of the day, relax at the pool found in the rolling lawns at the back of the lodge and make sure to keep an eye out for the monkeys who love to borrow your towel!
