Gorilla Trekking Safaris
You can go Rwanda or Uganda gorilla tracking, with both offering an authentic experience. Combine your gorilla trekking with a visit to the Chimpanzee sanctuary on Ngamba Island.

What surprised me about the gorillas was their playfulness. Babies were chasing each other, parents gently scolding them, and the great silverback was watching it all from the sidelines. Seeing the gorillas is a life changing experience and something everyone should do in their lifetime.

Gorilla permits REDUCED in Low Season in Uganda
Uganda Wildlife authority has dropped the price of Mountain Gorilla permits for the low season. During the months of March, April, May, October and November the price will be $350 per permit. Uganda currently has 7 gorilla families that can be visited in Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga National Parks.

Rwanda Gorilla Trekking

Uganda Gorilla Trekking

Rwanda, with its rolling green hills, offers both the rare mountain gorilla and chimpanzee tours. Tropical beaches at Lake Kivu are the cherry on the top!
On the mountainside in the impenetrable forests of Bwindi you spend the day hiking to get to the gorillas. It is a steep but beautiful climb and not for the completely unfit!

Gorilla Trekking Tours

Gorilla Trek Lodges

You can either join a scheduled gorilla tour or we can tailor-make an itinerary especially for you. Liesl and lise have both done a gorilla trek, so they can help you with the details.
Gorilla Trekking isn't a cheap past-time, the value is in seeing the gorillas. The three and four star lodges are, however, perfectly lovely and we can help you make the best choice.

Why go Gorilla Trekking?

Getting there

The gorillas are still one of Africa's most well kept secrets, and hopefully they will stay that way! There are only 700 of these magnificent primates left to see on your gorilla trekking adventure.
There are daily flights to both Kigali and Entebbe airport. You can do Rwanda or Uganda gorilla trekking as a standalone trip or combine the gorillas with a safari in Tanzania or Kenya.
