Amboseli

Amboseli

With its close proximity to Nairobi, the Amboseli is one of Kenya’s top destinations. Magnificent views of Kilimanjaro (across the border in Tanzania) rising above the plains gives you a perfect view of this highest mountain in Africa.

You can just imagine the classic safari image of elephants strolling across the plains, with the mountain in the background.

Sadly the guides and rangers in the Amboseli have had little respect for the area and have driven off road in pursuit of the animals, creating a difficult environment for the wildlife. However there are firmer controls in place now and hopefully the Amboseli will be back to its former glory soon.
Amboseli Honeymoon
The best African honeymoon in the Amboseli is at Tortilis Camp. This exclusive and luxurious camp will not only cater to your every whim, but offers views of nearby Kilimanjaro. Combine with a beach safari.
Getting to Amboseli
Amboseli is the easiest of the Kenyan reserves to access on good roads. Only 200 km from Nairobi it is a year round destination and you can choose between a scheduled tour or a private safari
Amboseli Black Rhino
Although one of the smaller game reserves in Kenya, the Amboseli offers you the rare opportunity of seeing the endangered black rhino. Because of the low vegetation, the animals are easy to spot and you can get very close to the wild life.
Amboseli Elephants

The main attraction here are the great herds of elephant that you find within the Amboseli. The bull elephants within the Amboseli are known for their enormous tusks. Perfect for photographs
