Serra Cafema Camp, Kunene River accommodation
In striking contrast to the arid landscapes of northwest Namibia, an oasis exists along the banks of the Kunene River and it is in the midst of this oasis that Serra Cafema Camp can be found. Due to its remoteness, access to Serra Cafema is restricted to light aircraft.
X-Factors of Serra Cafema Camp
- Meet the Himba people who reside in this remote area
- Remoteness of the camp
- Exploring the desert dunes on quad bikes
- Extraordinary fauna and flora
By day, thatched roofing keeps the eight raised suites cool and private decks look out down the winding Kunene River. Meals are served in Serra Cafema’s central dining room, and guests mingle at the adjacent bar and swimming pool. The dunes and plains of northwest Namibia are speckled with springbok, ostrich and oryx and can be explored in 4x4 vehicles; or (for the brave and the reckless) on quad bikes. For those looking for peace and tranquility, a boat trip down the Kunene River is also and option.
