Skeleton Coast, Namibia
The Skeleton Coast in Namibia is considered one of the most desolate places on earth. And with only two accommodation options, it is unspoilt and often forgotten.
Aptly named for the numerous shipwrecks dotted along the coastline, the Skeleton Coast is a region of unique beauty and tranquility. There is plenty to see on the Skeleton Coast however and on your daily activities you could enjoy frolicking whales, seal colonies, slide down sand dunes or watch the desert elephant or herds of springbok wander past.
The southern region of the Skeleton Coast is accessible by vehicle, but the northern section is only accessible by guided fly-in safaris.
The Southern Destinations’ team has travelled Namibia extensively and can guide you through your holiday booking. We are also able to offer competitive prices and personalised service, so contact us for expert assistance

Our Skeleton Coast recommendations: Getting to the northern part of the Skeleton Coast isn't easy. Because it is so remote, you have to fly in on a chartered flight when going to the Skeleton Coast Camp. These flights run on Wednesday and Saturday in both directions.
The southern park of the Skeleton Coast is easy to access by car. This means that you can drive to the Cape Cross seal colony and the Cape Cross Lodge easily and in about 2 hours from Swakopmund. |
