Shamwari Bayethe Tented Camp
The nine luxurious tents of Shamwari's Bayethe Lodge are hidden amongst the trees on the banks of a river just outside the Shamwari Reserve. The lodge is has an authentic bush feel and is perfect for the more adventurous safari-goer.

Camouflaged by shady trees on the banks of a pretty river, Shamwari Bayethe Tented Camp is one of the more luxurious of the Shamwari lodges. It comprises nine beautifully appointed air-conditioned tented suites, each with en-suite bathroom and a plunge pool on a private wooden viewing deck overlooking the river. Six of the tents have optional outside shower - let us know if you would like the to exhilarating experience to shower in the open with only the animals and the trees to see you! Polished wooden floors are a stunning feature of the sumptuously decorated Bayethe Tented Lodge suites. The tented suites overlook a river where the animals regularly come down to drink.
The three Premier tents at Bayethe Hills offer additional luxuries such as a fireplace, satellite TV and hammocks.
The lovely stone walled and thatched main lodge has a fresh, authentic 'bush' feel, and will delight the safari-goer who wants to be close to nature. A large airy lounge and dining room are great places to meet other guests, discuss the day's sightings with your ranger. Come and gather around the fireplace, share delicious meals and experience African hospitality. Shamwari is proud of its extensive wine list of select South African wines as well as a selection of imported French champagne.
Lise's thoughts: Shamwari Bayethe Lodge is my favorite of the Shamwari Lodges as it offers the most authentic bush experience. The rooms are tented, allowing you to hear the lions roar and the frogs croak and because the lodge is just outside the Shamwari Reserve gates, you can do awesome bush walks!
