Cape Town Specials
With more hotels and guest houses than ever before, the choice of places to stay in Cape Town ensures there is something to suit everyone. And chances are your room will have a view of the ocean or Table Mountain. More good news is that competition is steep at the moment... which means there are some super deals to be had. We have picked off the best ones and listed them briefly below. Read more...
Table Mountain

Rotating cable cars with 360 degree views will take you to breathtaking vistas at the top. So-called because it resembles a flat table top from a distance, the mountain is an iconic sight as you arrive in the city by air or road. Get up early as the queues can be long. It will close in bad weather or strong winds so make sure you don't leave this outing till the end of your holiday. You can walk to the top and down if you prefer, or choose from several lovely walks once up there.

Cape Point

Popularly perceived as the meeting point of the cold Atlantic and warm Indian Oceans, the Cape of Good Hope is the southernmost point in the Table Mountain National Park. Rich flora and fauna, rugged cliffs and sandy beaches make this a spectacular day trip. Gaze across False Bay from a restaurant terrace, hop aboard the environmentally friendly funicular, the only one of its kind in the world - to the view site near the old Cape Point lighthouse. Don't feed the baboons!

Robben Island

You will have to book in advance for this popular attraction. Leaving from the Clock Tower in the V&A Waterfront, the ferry trip takes 30 minutes across Table Bay. A guided tour by en ex-prisoner, includes the original prison and a drive around the island. For nearly 400 years, Robben Island was a place of exile and imprisonment. Now known around the world for its most famous prisoner, Nelson Mandela, who is a dearly-loved and respected symbol of freedom and personal liberation.

The V&A Waterfront

Situated in the heart of Cape Town's working harbour against a backdrop of magnificent sea and mountain views, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront has become South Africa's most visited destination. Shopping offers global brands and local arts and crafts, perfect gifts for loved ones back home. Catch our homegrown performers at the various live entertainment venues.

Cape Town Beaches

Clean and unspoilt, Cape Town's beaches and clear waters are pristine. Locals distinguish between the cold Atlantic Ocean side and the warmer Indian Ocean side. The famous 4 beaches of Clifton, the palm-fringed sands of Camps Bay with its trendy beach cafe's, and the remote beach suburb of Llandudno, all offer a refreshing swim! False Bay's Fishhoek and Muizenberg Beaches have warmer waters. Boulders Beach is home to the quirky black and white African Penguin.
