The thatched suites at MalaMala Camp are each unique in design and feature his and hers en suite bathrooms, panoramic views and a private shaded deck. A combination of standard rooms, luxury suites, family rooms and a disabled suite provide accommodation for a total of thirty-six guests. African artefacts and ethnic décor characterise the central lounge, dining room and bar at MalaMala, and an expansive deck shaded by jackal-berry trees fronts the lodge, looking out over the Sand River. When midday temperatures in the Kruger Park sore, guests can escape to the swimming pool or unwind in the ‘bush’ gym. Dinners in MalaMala’s traditional boma are a real treat, made all the more memorable by spontaneous musical performances by MalaMala’s Shangaan staff. The highlight of a stay at MalaMala is undoubtedly the daily game drives, on which there is a very good chance of spotting elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion and leopard and so much more that adds value to the safari experience. MalaMala’s rangers are extremely knowledgeable on the animals, birds, plants and insects that inhabit the Greater Kruger National Park, and share this knowledge with their guests, making the drives an exciting and educational experience.
