Isandlwana Lodge, Kwazulu Natal

Isandlwana Lodge is carved into the iNyoni rock formation overlooking the Isandlwana Valley in the midst of the historic Zululand in KwaZulu Natal's midlands. The surrounding valleys, mountains and plains, now so peaceful, were once the battlefields of the historic 1879 Anglo-Zulu war.

The elevated position of Isandlwana Lodge, a 5-star graded property,offers majestic views from all of the twelve luxurious en-suite suites. Private balconies lend themselves to take in the beauty of the dawn over Zululand and to watch dramatic African sunsets.

A restful library allows guests at Isandlwana to read up on the history of the Anglo Zulu and Anglo Boer wars. Built among the rocks is a swimming pool with equally magnificent views, offering guests a refreshing splash after a day on the battlefields.

During the day go bird watching, visit the authentic cultural village, horse ride and take part in photographic safari hikes. By night enjoy star gazing and friendly chats with fellow guests over a glass of port.

The Umfolozi-Hluhluwe Game Reserve is also close to the lodge adding a rich historical destination to your meander through the midlands of KwaZulu-Natal.

Children under fourteen are allowed by prior arrangement otherwise kids twelve years and younger sharing with parents pay only a half adult rate.
