PHINDA GAME RESERVE

Phinda, Kwazulu Natal accommodation

Situated in a particularly wild and interesting area, Phinda Game Reserve is superb for active safari lovers. At Phinda you will find a mix of history in the battlefields, an abundance of wildlife and optional visits to Sodwana Bay.

Bordering the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park – a World Heritage Site – Phinda comprises 22 000 hectares (54 500 acres) of prime conservation land. Seven distinct habitats shelter an abundance of wildlife including Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo) and over 380 bird species, while the marine diversity off the nearby coast of Sodwana is said to rival the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

X-Factors of Phinda Game Reserve

•  7 different biospheres
•  Lots of exciting activities
•  Meet the Zulu’s
•  Borders a World Heritage site

Safari at Phinda:
In one of the biggest reintroductions of game in Africa, Phinda was restocked with lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard, giraffe and other big game in an operation dubbed "phinda izilwane", return of the wild animals.

Even the most jaded safari traveller will be amazed by the plentiful Safari activities at Phinda. Enjoy morning and afternoon game-drives, interpretive bush walks, canoeing on the Mzinene River, White Rhino tracking, or watch the sunrise or sunset whilst enjoying a Mzinene Riverboat Cruise. Should you want to include beach activities such as scuba diving or fishing, then this can be arranged at additional cost.

What we love about Phinda:
Phinda is very different from other safari lodges in that it offers so many activitis. There just isn't time to rest, you have to try everything. And the smiles on the faces of the locals are so inspiring.
