GARONGA SAFARI CAMP

Garonga Safari Camp, Limpopo Province accommodation

Imagine taking a bush bath with your loved one, in the middle of a game reserve! That is a daily occurance at Garonga Safari Camp.

Garonga Safari Camp, part of the 22,000 ha Makalali Game Reserve in South Africa's Limpopo Province, focuses on spirituality and sensuality, making it the perfect destination for a honeymoon safari with soul.

X-Factors of Garonga Safari Camp

  • Perfect honeymoon safari destination
  • Romantic bush bath
  • Fresh, wholesome, well-presented meals
  • Owner-managed

The six tented suites at Garonga Safari Camp have been styled around the concept of a termite mound: décor incorporates rich reds and earthen columns. A shaded deck supports a large hammock for a relaxed form of bird watching!

Garonga Safari Camp’s exclusive Hambleden suite is a fitting honeymoon suite with a dramatic hand-carved ebony four-poster bed adorned with Senagalese linen; a hand-beaten copper bath is a striking feature in the en suite bathroom, which has exquisite views of the bush; and a private swimming pool built into the deck is the perfect spot to quietly contemplate the sounds and scents of the wild.

Meals at Garonga Safari Camp are a celebration of nature and centre around healthy eating, incorporating wild fruits, berries and game. Citrus fruit is picked from Garonga’s very own orchard.

Walking safaris and game drives in the Makalali concession are an ‘unhurried intimate wildlife encounter’ upon which guests may come across rhino, lion, leopard, elephant, hyena and many more animals, as well as Makalali’s myriad of bird species. Sleep-outs, an unforgettable bush bath, aromatherapy and reflexology sessions make your visit to Garonga more spiritual.
