The handsome stone lodge is adorned with grand antiques and paintings, and warm décor with a distinctly Scottish feel invites guests to feel right at home.
The private cottages of Critchley Hackle are all en suite with a log fire (winter nights in Dullstroom can be chilly) and each has been decorated around a different theme. Most of the cottages have private patios with splendid views of the lake. Candlelit dinners are paired with fine South African wines in the Critchley Hackle dining room, and the lounge is a cosy spot for a nightcap, or to settle in with a book.
Dullstroom is known for its many trout filled dams and lakes, so fishing is popular pastime at Critchley Hackle. There is also a swimming pool and the area offers wonderful nature walks, hikes and horse riding.
