The Motse (Tswana for ‘the village’) is Tswalu’s main lodge, where guests are accommodated in legaes (small house) built from stone and rich red clay. The effect is striking and the luxurious suites are stylishly rustic. En suite bathrooms feature both indoor and outdoor showers and each suite has a lounge, fireplace and a private deck looking onto a waterhole. Two of the legaes are designed to accommodate families of four.
The social hub of Tswalu incorporates a spacious lounge, a mezzanine library, and an open patio, which is fronted by a heated swimming pool. Guests at Tswalu can decide on a whim where they would like to dine each night: in their private lounge, in the dining room or under the stars in the boma. Delicious meals are matched with fine wines from Tswalu’s walk-in cellar.
Tarkuni is an exclusive, secluded lodge positioned between two mountain ranges in the Tswalu game reserve. Families or small groups of up to twelve people can be accommodated at Tarkuni. The six bedrooms with double, twin or bunk beds are spacious and the lodge encompasses a lounge, dining area, library, patio and swimming pool. An outdoor sala and a private chef are some other indulgences at Tarkuni.
