SANBONA WILDLIFE RESERVE

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, Route 62 accommodation

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is part of the Mantis Collection of properties and is a three hour drive from Cape Town, between Barrydale and Montague on the scenic Route 62.

X-Factors of Sanbona Wildlife Reserve

  • The world’s only wild pride of white lions
  • Mantis Collection property
  • Close enough to Cape Town for a weekend break
  • Fully-equipped spa

Accommodation at both Tilney Manor and Khanni lodge is very luxurious and suites are well-appointed. The suites at Tilney Manor have open plan lounges with fireplaces, a private deck with gorgeous views, and romantic bathrooms featuring free-standing baths. A fully-equipped spa at Sanbona offers restorative and rejuvenating treatments. Good food and wine is a focus of the Mantis Collection properties and Sanbona is no exception. In-suite dining is a romantic dinner option for special occasions.

A highlight of a visit to Sanbona is the opportunity to see the world’s only wild pride of White lions. Mantis Collection saved these lions from captivity and re-introduced them to their natural habitat in Sandona Wildlife Reserve. Leopard, elephant, buffalo, hippo and numerous species of antelope can also be seen at Sanbona during game drives. Guests can view ancient rock art, do some birdwatching and learn about the numerous species of plants in the area during guided nature walks.
