Lion Sands River Lodge, Sabi Sand accommodation
Lion Sands River Lodge is built on the banks of the Sabie River in the popular Sabi Sands Game Reserve. The Sabi Sands is well known for its high concentration of wildlife through both the dry and wet seasons.
The Southern boundary of the Sabi Sands is shared with the Kruger National Park along 10.5km of Sabie River frontage with the wildlife moving freely across the river, between the two reserves. Lion Sands is situated in one of the most pristine wilderness areas in Southern Africa.
X-Factors of Lion Sands River Lodge
• Built on a river that attracts animals • Added extras such as wildlife lectures • Great value for money • Romantic full moon walks • Superb rangers at Lion Sands
Lion Sands River Lodge is the Soul of Lion Sands. Positioned on the banks of the Sabie River with trees dating back almost 800 years, the lodge is about spirit, warmth, nature & relaxation.
The service at Lion Sands River Lodge is warm and friendly and will make you feel right at home. This really is African hospitality at its best.
The activities programme at Lion Sands River Lodge has been developed with you, the guest, in mind. You are able to tailor the safari to your interests and needs. On your safari your ranger will expose you to all aspects of the African Bush and introduce you to everything from the regal leopard to elusive chameleon.
The rooms at Lion Sands River Lodge offer respite and protection from the Lowveld heat. The interior is a tranquil purple and cream haven, cool in the summer, cosy in the winter. Rooms are quite small, but you will be spending most of your time on safari, so it won't matter!
The Lion Sands River Lodge swimming pool is arguably the best game viewing spot in the summer months. With an uninterrupted view of the river and the rising bush beyond it is not uncommon to spot an elephant or giraffe while doing backstroke.
Should you have time left over after all your safari activities, then take time out at the Lion Sands Spa. Here you can unwind with aqua treatments, aromatherapy and reflexology.
Lise's thoughts on Lion Sands River Lodge: I love the fact that at Lion Sands River Lodge there is always something happening. When you aren't on a game drive or a bush walk, then there is a lecture on something pertaining to the wild. Really informative.
The lodge is really good value for money and the decor is very plush. I also like the fact that you can get away from all the other guests at Lion Sands when you go find a hammock or a bench on a secluded spot.
Just remember that the rooms at Lion Sands River Lodge are quite small, but they are more than adequate.
