GOMO GOMO

Gomo Gomo, Timbavati accommodation

Gomo Gomo is a bit different to most of the camps in the Kruger National Park because they offer both traditional South African chalet accommodation as well as East African style tented rooms. And they do this at an affordable price.

X-Factors of Gomo Gomo

•  Good value
•  Family friendly
•  Great location
•  Excellent game viewing

This intimate camp overlooks the Nhlaralumi river in the Timbavati Game Reserve. The Timbavati shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park and is known for its excellent game viewing and untamed wilderness.

Game drives are offered twice daily in open 4x4 vehicles with professional rangers and trackers who will enthral you with sightings of lion, leopard and rhino or African birds such as the various eagles or kingfishers. Mid afternoon you are encouraged to walk through the reserve with your ranger to get a close up look at the flora and fauna of the area.

Gomo Gomo comprises five thatched chalets and four East African-style luxury tents - all built in traditional style with en-suite facilities. The rooms are simple but comfortable with tasteful decoration. Electricity for bedside lamps, fans and power points is supplied throughout.

Children are welcome at Gomo Gomo and the accommodation specifically caters to families with three family rooms. Children under 12 years are welcome on game drives, but will not be allowed to participate in the bush walks. While Gomo Gomo welcomes children, there is no formal kids program which means that you may struggle if your kids are under 5 years - children under 5 years have a shorter attention span and often it is wiser when you have very small children, to visit a camp that has facilities for them.

Central facilities at Gomo Gomo include a massive viewing deck and splash pool, the perfect spot to relax with a drink in the heat of the afternoon.

Lise’s thoughts on Gomo Gomo
Gomo Gomo is the kind of camp that I used to visit as a child - simple and interesting. The camp feels like it is in the wild which enhances your safari experience. Gomo Gomo is unbelievably well priced for what it offers.
