Lake Manyara
Don’t overlook Lake Manyara in your haste to get to the Serengeti. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree climbing lions and abundance of leopards, so remember to look up so you don’t miss them!
At the base of the Great Rift Valley and two thirds of the park being water there are thousands of flamingos and an amazing diversity of birds and hippo.
With great game viewing all through the year, Lake Manyara combines well with the Ngorongoro Crater if you are traveling outside of the Great Migration season of November to July

Pink streaks through the air as flocks of flamingos head towards the water. It is no surprise that birding in the Lake Manyara is superb. However Lake Manyara is also the most game rich park in Tanzania with a massive elephant population and an abundance of predators.
