Jongomero Camp
Jongomero Tented Camp offers a true Africa- wilderness experience in the remote African bush of Ruaha National Park, Tanzania. This is one of the least visited but most spectacular parks in Africa.
Being the only camp situated in the area of Ruaha National Park, Jongomero Camp is able to offer its guests ultimate privacy.
Jongomero Camp comprises eight large and spacious tents sitting beneath thatched roofs, each of which having their own large private verandas, the camp equips its accommodations with en suite bathrooms, hot and cold pressurised running water, electricity and utmost luxury which only enhances the romance of an African adventure.
Occasionally elephants may be seen from the patio overlooking the sand river, while delicious and expertly prepared meals are served. The dining and living areas offer elegance and are very comfortable, offering a great vantage to take in the sights and sounds of the African bush that surrounds the camp, as does the natural rock pool for those hot days.
Encompassing an area of 10,300 square km in the South-West of Tanzania, the Ruaha National Park lies along the Great Rift Valley where the varied natural landscape creates zones of diverse numbers of flora and fauna.
The park is the second largest in Tanzania, and undoubtedly one of the most spectacular in Africa. Well known among safari seekers for its generous populations of the more rare antelope species such as the Sable, the Roan as well as the greater and lesser Kudu. Leopard and lion are also prolific within in the park, as a result of the proliferation of plains animals.
For those with an interest in birdlife, the park is also home to a staggering 450 recorded species of birds.
It is within this incredible setting that the Jongomero Camp sits under shady Acacia trees on the banks of the Jongomero Sand River - a true luxury safari camp.
