Lechwe Plains Tented Camp is located in the remote wetlands of the Kafue River floodplain in Zambia's Lochinvar National Park, a World Heritage Wetland Site.
Lechwe Plains Tented Camp consists of six double units and caters for a maximum of twelve guests ensuring an intimate safari experience. The six exotic tented pavilions of Lechwe Plains Tented Camp feature teak sleigh beds and are remarkably luxurious considering their remote location in the Lochinvar National Park.
Each has en-suite facilities, is really spacious and your private veranda will provide the perfect spot to watch game wandering across the floodplain.
Predominantly clement weather allows for alfresco meals using local ingredients with an added spice of international flavours.
Meal times depend on game drives and delectable dinners at Lechwe Plains Tented Camp are served under the stars around a big log fire.
Although the camp is not home to the Big Five, Zambia's Lochinvar National Park is a bird watcher's paradise with over four hundred species to be spotted! Guided birding safaris with an ornithologist can be arranged on request.
Other activities at Lechwe Plains Tented Camp include drives and walks on the open flood plains in search of the rare sitatunga, oribi, bushbuck, waterbuck and all sorts and types of other antelope- this park is home to 30 000 shy aquatic Sitatunga Antelope!
Makoro trips on the water are the best peaceful way of viewing game and water birds and will also transport you to a fishing village for a cultural visit. Lechwe Plains Tented Camp is a hidden Zambian safari camp gem!
