If you are really keen to visit the Victoria Falls, but don't want to break the bank, then the Zambezi Waterfront is a good option. Don't expect grand five star accommodations and you won't be disappointed.
The lodge is situated just 4 km upstream from the Victoria Falls right on the Zambezi River and offers a clear view of the spray from the Falls
The rooms are all A-frame chalets with three rooms to a chalet. Each room has a private patio and ensuite bathroom facilities. Some rooms are situated right on the waters edge (worth paying a bit extra for) while the cheaper rooms are situated towards the back of the property. If you are traveling with kids, then be sure to book the family rooms which have 4 beds.
The weather at the Victoria Falls gets pretty hot in summer, so the pool is a welcome place to cool off in the heat of the day. The main dining room is close to the pool and has stunning views of the river. Mealtimes are casual affairs, with helpful service and good food. This is a great time to hook up with other travelers and get inside information on the best activities at the Victoria Falls.
A visit to the Victoria Falls is all about the activities. Where else can you jet boat at the bottom of the Falls one minute and swim at the lip of the falls the next. It is absolutely thrilling and nothing else even comes close to looking out over the ledge of the falls after you have just swum across the Zambezi River, scared to death, with nothing but a couple or rocks between you and certain death!!! The less adventurous will enjoy a sun-downer cruise on the Zambezi or perhaps an elephant back safari?
