Chiawa Camp
Voted one of Africa's Top Ten Safari Camps by Conde Nast, the eight luxurious thatched tents of Chiawa Camp are set amongst the acacia and mahogany trees of the Zambezi riverbank in the Lower Zambezi National Park.
Chiawa Camp has a selection of five classic safari tents, three Superior Tents and one Honeymoon Tent. The Chiawa Camp can provide accommodation for sixteen guests otherwise for those wishing to hire out the entire camp eighteen friends and family are welcome!
Natural materials have been used in the construction of the gorgeous tents, and the surrounding grove of trees ensures privacy. The tents are furnished with either twin or double beds; are en suite; and each has its own shaded verandah. Chiawa Camp's honeymoon suite faces onto the Zambezi with views extending to the escarpment, the Superior Safari Tent features an outdoor shower built around a large mahogany tree, and both suites have a Victorian bath.
Chiawa Camp's Executive chef Craig Warland's menus are of Afro-Euro fusion and served on an exquisite dining verandah. After indulging in an elaborate four-course dinner, guests are invited to gather around the campfire for a soothing nightcap. While sitting amongst the glowing embers, listen to the magical African sounds!
Activities are endless at Chiawa Camp. Wake up to an early morning game drive, go for afternoon strolls, float down the river in a canoe and for the keen angler, casting a line is always on the cards. And if simply doing nothing entices you, an observation deck looks out over the confluence of the Chiawa and Zambezi rivers and from this vantage point one can watch the wildlife congregate to drink at Chiawa Camp.
