Overlooking a permanent water channel of the Zambezi River in Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park, Kulefu Tented Camp is idyllically peaceful with the silence being broken only by hippos grunting in the ox-bow lagoons and diverse bird calls.
The eight spacious, well-appointed en-suite tents of Kulefu Camp are raised on teak decking and private verandas have fabulous views of the Lower Zambezi.
Mosquito nets ensure a peaceful sleep and solar heated water provides a well deserved hot shower after a day in the bush while the tall riverine trees shade the camp and a swimming pool is a cool escape from Zambia's hot summer days.
Blue skies and night stars provide the ceiling for most meals at Kulefu Tented Camp and a log fire keeps the chill off at dinner time. A wide selection of dishes are usually served at fixed times but also depend on games drives and different seasons.
Morning and afternoon game activities include game drives or walking safaris through the Lower Zambezi National Park, in the hands of Kulefu Camp's professional guides, on the look out for elephant, lion, buffalo and various antelope.
Aquatic birds and game can be seen on boat and canoe excursions on the Lower Zambezi River. The spotlight may pick up leopard, night apes and the spotted hyena on exciting night drives.
Zambia is also known for the superb fishing it offers and bream, tiger fish and vundu provide much challenge. Come to 'the faraway place' of Sanctuary Kulefu and be swept away into a glorious abyss of true splendour!
Kulefu is a seasonal destination open from 1st May to 31st October
