Looking out over the Zambezi River are Old Mondoro’s eight comfortable canvas tents with en suite facilities to which bucket showers add rustic charm. At night, lanterns light the way to the lounge and dining area; by day the covering sausage and winter thorn trees shade this deck. Tasty home-style food is served at Old Mondoro, accompanied by fresh bread, baked daily in a rustic oven. Furthering the authenticity of the camp, motorized vehicles are avoided and walking safaris through the Lower Zambezi National Park are a specialty. To the west of the Lower Zambezi National Park, elephant, lion and buffalo are found in abundance; and to the east leopard, serval and wild dog rove.
