Chamilandu
Chamilandu - a Bushcamp Company lodge - is situated on the banks of the Luangwa River with the Chindeni hills of South Luangwa National Park as its backdrop.
Chamilandu's two-meter high tree house chalets are made out of local woods and reeds covered with thatch roofing. All are classically decorated and have one hundred and eighty degree views of the Luangwa River. Four poster beds and open air showers add to the charm.
Meals at Chamilandu are either served on the river bank or under the ebony trees at the main lodge. A generous brunch provides sustenance of home-made breads, muffins and selected jams. A treat well deserved after an early morning walk (The Bushcamp Company specialize in walking safaris).
Not only is the food tasty but there is a great variation so every meal proves to surprise. The portions are fit for the hungry and if youre feeling peckish on a morning hike, expect cookies and tea to fill the gap.
The remainder of the day is at leisure before an evening walk or game drive through the South Luangwa National Park. Enjoy sundowners and light horsd oeuvres before gearing yourself for a blazing night by the log fires and a formal three course meal!
Going on a game drive is like watching your own wildlife documentary with constantly changing pictures. Expect to see roaming elephants, kudu's popping in for a drink and lazy crocodiles saying hello at the edge of the water banks.
Make the most of Chamilandu! Go for morning strolls, sunset walks, evening drives and of course eat till your heart's content!
