Mfuwe Lodge
Mfuwe Lodge is found near a lake that jettisons off from the Luangwa River, just 5 mins into the South Luangwa National Park. Mfuwe Lodge offers a magical safari lodge experience not to be missed out on. Unlike other lodges in the South Luangwa, it is open all year round.
Mfuwe Lodge has eighteen chalets (2 suites, 3 family rooms, 3 double and 10 twin rooms) All are positioned to maximize views over the area's many lagoons. Each fabulous chalet has a large private deck and en-suite bathrooms, 24-hour electricity, ceiling fans, a refrigerator, mosquito nets and coffee making facilities.
Most of the perimeters of the luxurious chalets at Mfuwe Lodge open up, creating a wonderful opportunity to sleep and bath amidst the sounds and scents of the bush while five of the suites are slightly more spacious, containing their own private bar.
A thatched roof shades the central lounge and dining area at Mfuwe Lodge, and the wooden deck encircles a glistening swimming pool where guests can keep a lazy eye trained on the wildlife down at the waterhole and hippo pond.
Delectable meals are prepared and served at Mfuwe Lodge in a setting only imaginable. Appreciate a glorious brunch in the bush and indulge in a scrumptious dinner by candlelight under the African skies!
Days at Mfuwe Lodge are filled with bird watching, walking safaris and game drives in the South Luangwa National Park discovering elephant, crocodile, hippo, antelope and many of their predators.
Mfuwe Lodge has a well stocked library filled with wildlife reference books and videos. Guets can also enjoy treatments at the Bush Spa.
Open all year round, including the Green Season and happy to accommodate children of all ages, Mfuwe Lodge is one of our favorite Zambian destinations!
Mfuwe Lodge is famous for the little herd of elephants, Wonky Tusk and family who often wonder through the lodge! See them on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWGoeXgxkrw
