The Elephant Camp

Luxury tented accommodation and an authentic bush experience, the Elephant Camp is just a short distance from Victoria Falls, making an ideal base for those visiting the area at the end of an African safari adventure. Set in a private concession of the Victoria Falls National Park, with the spray of the famous waterfall visible in the distance, the camp is known for its elephant interactions and for walks with Sylvester the rescued cheetah. Wild Horizons offer a full range of adventure activities which can all be enjoyed from the camp, from white water rafting to canopy tours and elephant back safaris, returning each evening to savour the generous hospitality and luxurious accommodation.

Raised on stilts to have stunning views over the bush towards the Batoka Gorges, each suite is more luxury hotel room than tent, beautifully furnished in rich colours and fabrics for a contemporary take on traditional safari chic. The spacious bedroom gives onto a large private deck complete with plunge pool and open air shower and the en-suite bathroom features an oval bathtub with a splendid view. Air-conditioning and a ceiling fan cool hot summer evenings and a mini-bar and tea and coffee station are on hand. A new addition is the exclusive-use Elephant Camp West, which offers four large suites with own swimming pool, lounge, kitchen and staff, for groups and families.

The reserve is home to buffalo, elephant, leopards, cheetah and many other species who can often be seen from the suites and lodge viewing deck. Guests have the opportunity to meet the resident Wild Horizons elephants, and a walk with cheetah ambassador Sylvester is not to be missed. The helpful staff organise your choice from among the many other activities in the Victoria Falls area and provide transport to the town, for sunset cruises on the Zambezi, game drives in the Chobe National Park, helicopter flights and much more. Excellent cuisine provides a selection of traditional dishes and game alongside international fare, and caters for vegetarians and special dietary requirements.

Chobe National Park, in the northeast of Botswana, is the country’s second largest national park and is blessed with one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa.
