Savute lies in a remote and grassy area of the famous Chobe National Park. The Savute Channel is the main feature of the area, flowing and drying up seemingly unrelated to rainfall. After drying up for almost 30 years, it recently started flowing again, transforming the area from dry and desert-like, into its natural lush and marshy state.

The exclusive andBeyond Savute under Canvas campsite provides guests with the opportunity to get as close to nature as possible, while still enjoying every luxury and convenience available. With the vast, relaxing solitude all around guests spend their nights under canvas, and their days exploring one of the world’s top wildlife areas.

The camp relocates every five or six days in order to provide guests with the best game viewing opportunities, while also minimising the camp’s impact on the environment around it. The remote areas that lie on the camp’s route ensure that guests can expect to see few, if any, other people or vehicles during their stay.

andBeyond Savute Under Canvas is made up of 6 luxurious, en-suite tents. Hot outdoor showers, spacious double beds and shady viewing decks where guests can relax and take in the magnificence of the surrounds. Dining is done under the stars by candlelight and there is also a personal butler on hand to see to your every requirement. Each site is carefully chosen to put you in the way of resident game, while still maintaining the privacy that the camp is known for.

Game drives are taken twice daily into the Savute grasslands in a specially designed vehicle, which is only equipped to take a maximum of 6, ensuring everyone gets the best seats. Famous for it lion prides and hyena, as well as its large herds of elephants you are guaranteed excellent game viewing opportunities. Sightings of wildebeest, leopard, cheetah and African wild dog have also been recorded. Between November and May you may also get to see the incredible annual zebra migration.
