Perfectly positioned on an elevated island, which lies along the borders of the world-famous Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana, the luxurious Chitabe Lediba Camp looks out over a beautiful, bustling watering hole that attracts a huge variety of birds and wildlife from all over the surrounding Okavango Delta.
Smaller than its sister camp Chitabe, Chitabe Lediba offers a lovely, intimate experience that is perfect for families and small groups. It has two family units, both with adjoining bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. The five spacious and luxurious tents are built on elevated decks, with outdoor showers that offer panoramic views.
The communal lounge and dining area look out over the lediba – a former lagoon that has become a watering hole – after which the camp is named. Here a multitude of animal and bird life congregate during the day and evenings, making it easy to view game from the comfort of the camp.
However, for those who’d rather be out and about, Chitabe Lediba Camp offers day and night game drives, presenting an opportunity to explore the breath taking landscapes and natural habitats, which border the Chitabe Concession. Late afternoon drives stay out until after dark, giving guests the chance to spot the nocturnal animals that live in the area, from porcupine and the occasional aardwolf, to other shy night time mammals like genet, serval and civet.
Guest can take a guided bush walk through the grasslands with a member of the camps experienced and passionate guide team. Because the area is so diverse, it provides the perfect habitat for a variety of wildlife. An impressive predator and game population often leads to sightings of lion, cheetah, buffalo, elephant and hippo. Leopards and the rare wild dog are also resident, with a portion of your accommodation rates being donated to the wild dog conservation fund.
Chitabe Lediba is an intimate, friendly camp with a professional team of guides who are both keen to spot game, but also considerate of how human interaction can affect the animals. Because of this you can rest assured that your stay will be both rewarding and respectful to the wildlife to whom this area primarily belongs.
