Chobe Savanna Lodge accommodates just 24 guests in elegantly furnished thatched chalets, all with a combined bedroom and lounge area, en-suite bathroom and private deck. All chalets are air-conditioned and come standard with a complimentary mini-bar. Other lodge facilities include: a gazebo perfect for small group lunches, a swimming pool, and open boma area right on the banks of the river where guests can soak up the spectacular panoramic views.

This part of the Caprivi Strip is renowned for its elephant population that migrate freely across the river from Chobe National Park and is known as the premier Botswana Safari wildlife destination.

Here, the emphasis is on complete relaxation. There is no set daily schedule, but guests can instead choose from a variety of activities on offer or simply choose to recharge their batteries at the lodge. Guests have a choice of game viewing boat excursions in small manoeuvrable boats which are ideal for viewing wildlife along the river’s edge; fishing for tiger fish and bream on a catch-and-release basis; or visiting one of the cultural villages of the nearby communities where guests can experience the traditional life-style of the local people first hand.

Strong links exist between the Chobe Savanna Lodge and the local people who live in a nearby village, and a number of sustainability projects have been launched. Guests are able to gain an insight into community life, and how the locals build their houses, plant crops, catch fish, raise cattle, brew beer and create their intricate basketwork. Some of the projects that have been introduced include the installation of water pumps, and the establishment of an eco-friendly veggie garden and school.

Staff and management at the Chobe Savanna Lodge realise the importance of preparing the community to act as custodians to conserve their environment for the future. The Savanna Conservancy will form part of the proposed Transfrontier conservation region located near the lodge.

As a predominantly water-based lodge, guest have a variety of aquatic experiences on offer accompanied by resident guides whose intimate knowledge of the surrounding areas make Chobe Savanna Lodge an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
