This eco-friendly, luxury camp has authentic Masai guiding, hearty food, and offers superb value for money. Each of Encounter Mara’s spacious tents features their own private veranda with a view over the expanses of surrounding savannah. Tents are constructed out of canvas and natural materials, and furnished with handmade, local furniture. Tucked into the edge of the forest, the tents are side-facing, which allows for a larger veranda as well as a relaxing “bathroom with a view”.

What makes a safari in the Masai Mara special is that you can drive off-road throughout the Masai Mara Reserve, as opposed to only in designated areas. This means that your game viewing in the Mara is guaranteed to be intimate, close and personal!

In the evening, guests gather around the campfire for sundowners before dining under chandeliers hosted by the camp manager. Lemala Ewanjan Seronera Valley is perhaps the finest new seasonal camp in the Serengeti, tucked in a truly spectacular location.

Guests can also take advantage of Lemala’s superb open 4×4 vehicles, which are specially designed for longer game drives – each vehicle is fitted with comfortable seats, charging units and a large refrigerator.

Alex Walker has made an impressive name for himself and has been running camps and guiding in Africa for a very long time, He passes on his expertise and knowledge onto his staff and guides to ensure a top quality, adventurous safari experience. Dinners at Alex Walker’s are family affairs and you can swap stories over the dinner table and work out what to do and where to go the following day.

Serian encourages guests to immerse themselves in an experience, which means that guests have to have their own dedicated vehicle. You can plan your day to suit your mood – whether you choose to laze luxuriously in bed, or go on pre-dawn drive to capture the mist and sunrise as it forces its way over the horizon; nature has no set schedule.

DAY 10 - 11 Ngorongoro Crater : Gibb's Farm

ngorongoro crater tourAfter your morning game drive and breakfast in the southern Serengeti, you will be transferred to Gibb’s Farm.

Begin your day by waking up to the glorious, fresh aroma of the farm’s coffee being roasted. Gibb’s Farm provides for 90% of all ingredients required to offer its guests high quality, home-cooked meals.

A visit to the nearby Ngorongoro Crater floor is a must for an incredible wildlife encounter on this natural wonder of the world.
