Small and exclusive, Elephant Bedroom Camp is situated deep in the Samburu National Park, on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in northern Kenya. Surrounded by doum palms and other beautiful indigenous trees, deep in the heart of the Samburu National Park, this camp was opened in 2008 making it new and exclusive.
Elephant Bedroom Camp is made up of 12 luxury tents that are set against a variety of the indigenous trees and shrubs that flourish in the area. The tented suites are spacious and comfortable with 9 on raised wooden platforms and the others all situated at ground level.
Each of the tents has a sofa, lounging chairs and coffee table, writing desk and queen sized or twin beds. The en suite bathroom has hot and cold running water, twin washbasins and flushing toilet. Toiletries are provided. Each of the tents also has it’s own private plunge pool situated on a private veranda that is perfect for cooling off in between game drives.
Activities at Elephant Bedroom Camp revolve around the wildlife. Morning and evening game drives are taken in specially designed 4×4 vehicles accompanied by an experienced guide with exceptional knowledge about the reserve and the animal, plant and bird life that resides there.
Armed rangers will escort you on safari bush walks too, where you will get to experience the habitats and wildlife up close and personal as well as learn about the local people and how they use the surroundings in their every day lives.
