Your Namibian adventure begins in the capital city, Windhoek from where your charter flight to the Etosha National Park will depart. After arrival at the Mokuti airstrip you will be transferred to Onguma Plains Camp for two nights of communing with nature in sheer luxury.
The Onguma Game Reserve borders onto Etosha National Park and situated next to the von Lindequist gate which is the eastern entrance to the park. The Reserve covers an area of 38 000ha and incorporates ecological substrata such as savannah, bushveld, omuramba and dry pan. Plains game roam freely and there are over 300 species of birds in that area.
Your third day involves a flight transfer to Mowani Mountain Lodge in Damaraland in a secluded site between the Ugab and Huab Rivers. Here, you will be encouraged to relax at the pool after a leisurely lunch and to drink in the exquisite desert surrounds. An afternoon’s excursion will reveal a series of fascinating ancient bushman rock paintings.
The luxury-tented accommodation at Mowani is built unobtrusively, so as to ensure minimum impact on the natural environment and the stilt-like supports of the tents ensure very little excavation, in order to create this special oasis. Combine culture with animal sightings with a bushman oriented excursion as well as a game drive in the riverbed. Of course leisure time at the pool is factored in too!
After a leisurely breakfast enjoying the sumptuous food and the silence of the desert and its unspoilt vistas, guests are transferred by plane to the German colonial coastal town of Swakopmund. This picturesque town offers fascinating insight into the history of Namibia. After lunch, there is a transfer to Wolwedans in the NamibRand Nature reserve where guests will spend the next three nights.
With its position on top of a dunes plateau, Wolwedans Dunes Lodge offers panoramic views of the red dunes of the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Wolwedans Dunes Lodge is a combination of wooden structures, large canvas blinds and windows opening up to the desert beyond. Each of the nine spacious Wolwedans Chalets with en-suite bathrooms leads onto a private veranda overlooking vast stretches of untouched sand- sleep with your canvas blinds open and stargaze from your bed!
