Located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, this camp is true paradise and has been nominated for the 2014 Safari Awards! The Kicheche Laikipia Camp is small but luxurious where it nestles in the rich shadow of Mount Kenya and overlooks a large waterhole at the foot of an indigenous jungle. Numbers of visitors here are strictly limited and offers exclusivity, privacy and unparalleled game viewing in a remote and game rich environment. Here you can find the biggest density of Black Rhino in Kenya roaming between great numbers of African elephant, rarer species of large game and plenty of predators.
The camp offers a fabulous view of the majestic Mt Kenya and is situated on the equator. The closest entry point is at the Nanyuki airstrip which is a mere thirty minutes’ drive away. At this spacious and luxurious camp all guests are treated like good friends and service is provided by helpful and friendly staff.
Accommodation is limited to six spacious and lavish tents which are positioned for maximum views and total privacy. The tents are all custom created and furnished to extremely high standards and are insect proof. Deluxe double accommodation is offered in each tent which contains a comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom with flush toilet, running water and hot shower.
Electricity is provided with solar power all day and night. There is also a very spacious tent which offers accommodation for a family of four. All contain private verandas overlooking the water hole, and from here you can encounter plenty of animal activity throughout the day and night.
A magnificently furnished guest lounge tent with two fire places is situated in the centre of the camp, and here guests can relax, read or relate stories with fellow guests over a few drinks. Sumptuous meals are provided in the comfortable dining tent, and meals are usually served under the stars.
A wide range of activities are arranged to suit guests. Bush hikes, regular game drives during the night or day are popular, and guests can also enjoy mountain biking, lion tracking or canoeing. Visits to local villages are also arranged.
