Little Vumbura lies on an island in a private concession in the Okavango Delta’s northern part. Situated in the same area as its sister camp Vumbura Plains, it is one of the few lodges that can offer visitors both land and water activities all year round. The Camp features six beautiful tents shaded by a canopy of ancient trees and is accessible only by boat. Each one is large and roomy, designed to blend in with its surroundings and fitted with en-suite facilities and an open air shower with expansive views of the surroundings.

Guests can relax on the privacy of their own verandas or take advantage of the plunge pool, reading area or wooden deck overlooking the floodplains which provides a tranquil backdrop for meals and drinks.

Surrounded by water and close to rivers, water-based activities are the focus at Little Vumbura. Guests can explore the floodplains on mokoros (dug-out canoes) or via motor boats on the more permanent channels of the Delta. Game drives are offered in open Land Rovers and allow guests the opportunity to get up close to the animals of the savannah plains. Guests can also request to go on guided walks which offer an entirely different African experience.

Game viewing and birding is consistently good all year round at Little Vumbura, and guests can expect to see leopard, sable, lion, elephant, cheetah and buffalo, as well as an abundance of bird life. This area is also one of the few in the Okavango Delta where visitors can spot the Red Lechwe. Evening game drives provide the perfect backdrop to enjoy an African starry sky and the opportunity to view animals rarely seen during the day.

Keen fishermen can try their luck at trying to catch one of the many challenging fish species found here such as the Bream, Tiger Fish and Tilapia. For one of the top lodges in the Moremi Game reserve and a fantastic Botswana Safari game viewing destination, you have to look no further than Little Vumbura.
