Loldia House

Loldia House is one of Kenya’s oldest farm buildings and it still maintains that charming colonial style. It is situated on the banks of Lake Naivasha, underneath a grove of acacia trees and offers guests a wide range of activities and facilities that cater to both romantics and families alike. Lake Naivasha is set against the dormant volcano, Mount Longonot that provides the most incredible backdrop. Here you can experience the life of some of Kenya’s earliest settlers, while enjoying all the modern comforts that come with a truly memorable getaway.

Loldia House was built by settlers who came to Kenya by ox wagon after the Boer War and the house is still owned by the same family to this day.

Surrounded by immaculate lawns and the lake, guests can experience the peace and quiet of this beautiful corner of Kenya. Here you are ideally situated for visiting the flamingo lakes of Nakuru, Elementaita and Bogoria, which are some of the great spectacles of the continent.

Wildlife roam free in the area, offering excellent viewing of the black and more elusive white rhino, as well as the greater Kudu, leopard and a huge variety of other animal, bird and plant life. Guests can walk or ride around the farm’s 6 500 acres, through herds of cattle and ostrich, intermingled with impala, waterbuck and other plains game.

Fishing and birding enthusiasts can also take boat trips on Lake Naivasha, and visits to the spectacular canyon of Hell’s Gate can also be arranged. At Loldia House, activities are tailored made to suit you.

The farm house itself offers four comfortable double rooms and three cottages on the land that are perfect for honeymooners or families. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated in the original colonial style and each have breathtaking views. Each room has its own en suite bathroom with bath, shower, basin and toilet with hot and cold running water.

The accommodation provides a peaceful, relaxing haven in which to relax after a day spent exploring this beautiful corner of Kenya.
