The Mara Simba Lodge is an unforgettable place for those who are serious about the romance the African safari. The lodge is perched against a spectacular bend on the riverbanks of the Talek River, and blends seamlessly into the surrounding nature. Landscaped indigenous gardens with bird-filled trees echo the beauty of the virgin riverbed below. When it comes to luxury and comfort no stone has been left unturned and a minimum stay of three to five days is recommended for African safari guests who would like to truly experience the best that this luxurious and exclusive lodge has to offer.
The Mara Simba Lodge was built to fit into the local eco-system and surrounding nature with very little environmental impact and is a statement of pure exclusivity and luxury.
It is located conveniently for the Great Migration and the area is home to the Big Five, including the famous Black Maned Lion. The décor in the lodge is traditional Maasai style expressed in earthy colours and ancient symbolism.
The main areas are connected to the rooms with romantic lamp-lip pathways and the viewing decks built with vistas over the river below are made of cedar wood sourced locally. Palm roofs provide shade from the hot sun and a comfortable lounge provides a great space for guests to relax in front of one of the stone fireplaces on a chilly evening.
In the central area you can also find a curio shop with local object d’art and a good stock of photography items. A sparkling swimming pool offers great refreshment after a dusty game drive, and at night you may find yourself on the viewing deck to delight the floodlit antics of the animals.
In the dining room, excellent chefs take pride in serving delectable cuisine that includes a wide range of mouth-watering local specialities featuring local meat and organic produce.
Accommodation is provided in natural wood and stone en-suite rooms of varying sizes which open up onto a private deck with river views. Tents are also available by arrangement.
