Mpala Jena Camp is a stunning new exclusive canvas tented camp on a private concession within the Zambezi National Park a little way upstream of Victoria Falls. It overlooks a pretty stretch of the Zambezi River.  There are four guest tents set in the shade of indigenous trees including Sausage trees, Rain trees and Waterberry trees. The camp is located on a natural spring-line, Mpala Jena, which attracts lots of animals throughout the year, especially during the drier months.

Mpala Jena Camp was built with the intention of being the most environmentally innovative camp in  Zambezi National Park. It is constructed using only recycled hardwoods and canvas and all the camp’s electricity comes from its solar farm.

The four guest tents are made of flowing beige canvas, with canopy ceilings and open (yet netted) views of the river bank.  Each Moroccan inspired tent has a small lounge  with a desk, and an en-suite bathroom which include a large bathtub, indoor shower, separate loo and double basins. The front deck has  a private plunge pool with views of the calming Zambezi River.

The Zambezi National Park’s  wildlife population is healthy and constantly increasing with higher concentrations of buffalo and elephant during the months June through to October. The area is especially good for bird watching throughout the year, but with a higher diversity of species during the months November through to April.

Mpala Jena is only 16 kilometres inside the Zambezi National Park which makes for easy access to Victoria Falls town, but is far enough away from the hustle and bustle, allowing guests to relax and unwind whilst enjoying an incredible setting amidst the wild habitat of the Zambezi National Park.
