This is a camp with a difference: a peaceful refuge that is, essentially, a walking camp. Remotely situated, with very limited road access, Nsolo’s philosophy is that to get to the heart of Africa, you need to feel the earth, smell the scents, survey the sky and silence – preferably on foot. It’s the closest you can possibly get to Mother Nature, but short night drives are offered too, allowing guests to absorb the essence of Africa in any way they choose.

Four luxurious chalets on raised wooden decks with private verandas are open-fronted to ensure that you are one with the landscape beyond, while canvas curtains allow you privacy, should you want it. Utilising locally sourced materials in a beautiful way, all four chalets also overlook  a waterhole. Just imagine … a cocktail in hand, quenching your thirst as the wildlife quenches theirs; before grazing, as the wild life beyond, on memorable meals prepared al fresco. The central area, chitenje, also offers an intimate bar, dining area and library.

The Luwi river area is renowned for lion spotting, and many prides use the riverbed to confront rival prides, locate prey and drink. Wild dogs, elusive as they are known to be, are prevalent here too.
