The beautiful and exclusive Pakulala Safari Camp in northeast Tanzania is perched on the rim of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, offering some of the most breathtaking views. The crater is the result of a volcano that exploded about 3 million years ago and collapsed on itself creating what is today an expanse of about 240km2 in size that today teems with wildlife such as zebras, wildebeest and rhinos as well as beautiful rivers and forests. The crater is situated in the Ngorongoro Conservancy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is known to some as the eighth wonder of the world.
Pakulala Safari Camp is made up of 11 luxurious tents, where guests are able to kick back and relax in total comfort. The canvas tents are classically designed and include unique personal touches like meals served on porcelain or wood platters and freshly picked flowers in the en-suite bathrooms. Besides unwinding in the serenity of the surrounds at the camp, there are also many exciting adventures and discoveries on offer for guests at Pakulala. Bird watching is a popular pastime as there are over 100 species of birds in the area; there’s the opportunity to learn more about the traditions and culture of the local Masai tribe on an enlightening day tour to the nearby village; or an exploration into the vast Ngorongoro Crater will have guests in awe at the natural untouched beauty of this crater as well as the exquisite wildlife and the Elephant Caves where the elephants in the area have dug into the hills in search of essential vitamins.
Each night, a warm and inviting campfire is lit for guests to gather round and take in the splendour of the sunset before partaking in a delicious dinner. They will occasionally also be treated to a traditional dance by members of the Masai tribe around the campfire. These all make for unique and authentic experiences of this beautiful area of East Africa.
Staying at Pakulala Safari Camp is a one-of-a-kind experience and a must-try for those wanting an intimate yet exciting holiday.
