Sabi Sands Safari, Garden Route & Cape Town… in Peak Season

Dear Camille,

First of all … our BEST WISHES for you and your family for 2015.  In general, our holiday was very very good.

Let’s start from Sabi Sands. Both lodges were excellent (Kirkman’s Kamp and Ngala Tented Camp).  Windermere Hotel in Port Elizabeth was OK for one night. Kanonkop Guest House in Knysna was EXCELLENT (great place!!! the guest house and the area in general). Rosenhof Country House was very good but not for 2 days I think. Anyway in our case was fine because we could have a real rest. The Last Word Franschhoek was very good and in a very good position. Franschhoek was very very nice as a place, safe with fantastic restaurants and wines.

Now lets talk about Cape Town. Mount Nelson Hotel was good but we were expecting more from that hotel. We had a look at all the other hotel at the waterfront and we would definitely prefer to stay at the waterfront. The One and Only, the Table Bay and the Cape Grace would be perfect for us but unfortunately we could not find anything there (you remember … it was full).

Cape Town is really a very beautiful city but I think that the period was not good to visit it as a tourist. Everything was busy and full everywhere. We wanted to book restaurants and they were completely full. We wanted to visit Table Mountain and we did not manage to do it because there where huge queues or the weather was not good. Anyway… that’s question of luck also I suppose. Robin Island was completely full until the 8th of January!!! We managed to visit Cape of Good Hope and it was breath taking!!

(Great White Shark Diving) With Marine Dynamics everything was OK. We went there the 2nd of January and we saw 5 Great Whites. Really good experience!!!

So overall South Africa is a very beautiful country with GREAT PEOPLE !!!

Kind regards,
