A luxury rail meander from South Africa’s Mother City to the Capital City
This five-star train journey over 1,600 kilometres paints a picture of a thousand colours, showing South Africa’s diversity of landscapes and the people who inhabit them. Starting at the teal-blue sea in Cape Town, framed by the rugged gray of the surrounding mountains, the route winds up to the plateau, through the splashes of fynbos and the deep orange of the barren Karoo. As the route reaches its destination, the orange turns into the golden yellow of the Highveld to match the area’s gold mines. The luxurious journey ends in Pretoria, also known as the Jacaranda city, a tree which drenches the capital in purple in early spring every year.
