Secluded Seba Camp is located in an ancient forest in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Overlooking a lagoon and teaming with animal and bird life, Seba Camp offers guests a complete African safari experience. Once an elephant research facility, the camp is now predominantly a luxurious getaway. Seba, which means ‘whisper’ in the local language, is the name of a bull elephant released into the wild from the nearby Abu Camp. He and a number of others have formed a herd nearby and it’s the interaction between these and wild elephant herds that the researchers are there to capture.

Guests at Seba Camp are offered the unique opportunity of mingling with the researchers who work in the area, often in close proximity to the elephant herds.

Ideal for families and couple alike, Seba Camp is made up of a small cluster of spacious, elevated tents that are specifically designed to blend in with the landscape. Each tent has it’s own en-suite bathroom and private deck, on which guests can relax and watch out for passing wildlife in and around the lagoon. The camp also offers a large canvas covered dining, bar and lounge area that sits on a raised teak deck. Gourmet meals are served al fresco and sundowners are enjoyed by guests, guides and researchers around a traditional campfire.

In the summer months, before and after the annual winter flood, game is abundant in the area. Giraffe, impala, tsessebe, warthogs, elephant and wildebeest can be seen, as well as the camp’s resident pod of hippos and territorial lion pride, who’s calls can be heard echoing around the camp in the evenings. Birding in the area is spectacular all year round, with over 380 species recorded, making Seba a haven for bird enthusiasts. Along with the elephant research in the area, guests can take day and night game drives in open land cruisers, as well as enjoy fishing or water-based game viewing via motorboat, or the traditional Okavango Delta canoe, known as the Mokoro.

Seba is a classic camp, offering guests the ultimate African wilderness safari experience.
