Staying at the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is quite an unusual experience, in that guests are accommodated in traditional dome rondavels, set amongst the natural beauty of trees. A central dining room, relaxation area, braai arena and swimming pool link the guest rondavels, creating a communal space for guests to enjoy together. The lodge is set in the heart of Big 5 country and offers game drives twice daily, where guests experience sightings of wild cats, rhino, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elephant and hundreds of other creatures in the breathtaking beauty of the Serengeti – one of the world’s 7 natural wonders.

The communal space boasts a safari bar, a two-tiered dining room, gift shop, conference centre and TV room. The 66 Standard Rooms are double-storey traditional thatched rondavels, each with their own private terrace, spacious bedroom, bathroom and exquisite views over the Serengeti plains.

The Serengeti Suite is a luxury hideout, with a king-size bed, marble en-suite bathroom, tasteful décor, carefully chosen furnishings, 24-hour room service, stocked minibar and panoramic views over the plains.

There are perfect days just waiting to be enjoyed at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge. This award-winning lodge welcomes return guests year after year, thanks to their accommodating service, expert game rangers and overall value-for-money.

A typical day begins with a safari drive out into the wilderness with a qualified tracker and ranger, who knows just where to go to for guests to experience sightings of the Big 5. Trackers understand animal behavior, and can anticipate movements and kills. Guests are then returned to the lodge after the morning game drive and treated to a sumptuous breakfast, complete with every delicious pastry and decadent morsel one could desire.

After breakfast, the day can be spent luxuriating in the comfort of your own suite, cooling off in the pool, relaxing in the library or taking part in one of the many activities offered at the lodge, including the unforgettable experience of being airborne in a hot air balloon above the Serengeti.

Wind down after the late afternoon game drive with cocktails at the Safari Bar, and a feast underneath the stars.
